This project aims to explain and capture the history of S. Korean and American media and the overlaps between the two. The various blog posts discuss a number of topics such as music, fashion, television, movies and current events. This project relates to a social reality many are facing, especially here at Michigan State University considering our high number of international students from South Korea and other parts of Asia and the world. American culture, ultimately is a fusion of many different cultures due to its creation through immigration. It is necessary for people to find the connections and similarities between their culture and that of others; in the case of our project, within American and Korean culture. When these connections are made, people will see themselves and each other as global citizens as opposed to through a divide, as citizens of a particular country. Throughout this blog, the cultural overlaps will be evident, and it will make the geographical gap between S. Korea and the United States appear to be much smaller.
